La Scie Dorée (“The Golden Saw,” in ABCD) is a record label founded by Timo van Luijk in 2002. Through this independent platform, he releases his solo project Af Ursin, various collaborations, and occasional reissues of artists whose work he admires.
The label operates within the realm of experimental and interior music, spanning acoustic, electronic, and hybrid forms. All releases are issued on vinyl and feature artwork created by the artists themselves, with some editions being entirely handmade.
Beyond its musical output, the platform also showcases visual works by Timo van Luijk, including photography, printmaking and collage.
Timo van Luijk is also the driving force behind the Metaphon label, which presents a carefully curated selection of electronic and instrumental avant-garde works by often overlooked composers, primarily from the 20th century. Metaphon collaborates closely with composer Michael Ranta to publish archival recordings of his work.
The shop offers all available titles from La Scie Dorée and Metaphon, along with releases by related artists and labels. It also occasionally features second-hand rarities and printed materials.
